Redmi 9 – Back in October, Xiaomi launched the Redmi 8 in India, but it appears that his successor is already in the pipeline and could arrive in Q1 2020 at the latest. Tentatively named the Redmi 9 is said to pack the MediaTek G70 SoC paired with at least 4 GB of RAM, the next Xiaomi mobile for the masses.’ A fresh leak indicates that the Redmi 9 will have a slightly larger profile compared to its predecessor, although other information on its internal hardware such as camera and battery capacity remain under the wraps.
According to a 91Mobiles article, the Redmi 9 will be operated by the announced MediaTek Helio G70 SoC, which appears to be based on Android low-end phones. This is the first time we’ve come across the mention of this particular SoC, but going through the naming convention, it seems that the Helio G70 will be placed in MediaTek’s portfolio below the Helio G90 and Helio G90T. Unlike them, the SoC should be based on gaming-so in mobile games you can expect better than average results.
It is claimed that the MediaTek G70 SoC packed in the Redmi 9 will be paired with at least 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. Certain mobile models, however, are also said to be in the pipeline with various RAM and space configurations. But so far, no details have surfaced online about the camera hardware. However, there are at least two rear cameras on the phone, as its predecessor also packs a dual rear camera setup.
It is said that Redmi 9 has a 6.6-inch screen at the top with a waterdrop notch. In fact, it is rumored that the dimensions of the new Xiaomi phone are larger than that of its predecessor, the Redmi 8. The Redmi 9 is reported to be launching in China in Q1 2020 and is expected to make its debut soon after that in India.
